The By-Laws of The 1889ERS Society, Inc. THE BY-LAWS of THE 1889ERS SOCIETY, INC. ARTICLE I - Dues Section 1. An application fee of$5.00, shall be paid by each adult upon application for membership. (A) A Junior application fee of $2.00, shall be paid. (B) A membership Certificate shall be issued to all new members upon acceptance into the Society. Section 2. Dues in the amount of $10.00, per year shall be paid by each adult member, associate member, or booster member and $4.00, for each Junior member. Said dues are due and payable at the beginning of each calendar year. Upon payment, a current membership card will be issued. Section 3. Members In arrears for dues after the April meeting shall notbe privileged to vote or hold office until same are paid. Section 4. Names of members delinquent in payment of "Annual" dues shall not be listed in the Year Book of the following year. Section 5. Members in arrears in payment of dues maybe reinstated upon payment of $10.00, for the current year and payment of Annual dues thereafter. Section 6. Life members: (A) Any adult member in good standing may become a life member by payrnent of $100.00. (B) Any Junior member in good standing may become a life member by payment of $100.00 plus accrued dues to age 18. ARTICLE LI - Committees Committees may be appointed by the President from time to time as deemed necessary to carry on the work. ARTICLE III - Annual Reports Each officer and chairman of each committee shall make a full written report of the Year?s work at the Annual meeting. Said reports to be preserved by the Recording Secretary. ARTICLE IV - Order of Business Section 1. The order of business at a regular meeting shall be left to the discretion of the President. Section 2. Order of business at Annual Meeting: a - Call to Order - Prayer - Flag Salute b - Memorial Service c - Minutes of Previous Meeting d.- Written Reports of Retiring Officers and Chairmen of Committees e - Address of Retiring President f - Election of Officers (conducted by Parliamentarian) g - Installation of New Officers ARTICLE V - Rules The Society shall be governed by Roberts Rules of Order Revised. ARTICLE VI Every person joining this Society shall consider himself pledged to investigate and report to the Secretary or Chairman of the Visitation Committee any case of serious illness or death of any 1889ER that may come to his notice in order that get well wishes or sympathy maybe extended with as little delay as possible. ARTICLE VII Any article of the By-Laws may be suspended by unanimous consent for not more than one meeting. ARTICLE VIII- Amendments Section 1. By-Laws maybe amended at any regular meeting by two-thirds vote of members present, notice of such an amendment having been given in writing at a previous regular meeting. Section 2. Amendments may be made at any regular meeting without previous notice by the unanimous consent of those members present and voting. ARTICLE IX - Official Records A. All records, including but not limited to application papers, minutes, treasurer?s records, and official correspondence, generated by any person or group of people acting In an official capacity for The 1889ERS Society, are and shall remain the property of The 1889ERS Society body generating the records. B. No individual 1889ER member or members may dispose of any of the said records without the official knowledge and consent of The 1889ERS Society group responsible for generating the records. C. It is the responsibility of the body creating the records to secure adequate storage for the records. (1). Records shall remain under the control of, and accessible to, said body. |
